'The Cosmos Rocks' : l'album nelle parole di Thomas Zeidler
Topic: The Cosmos Rocks
Ecco le opinioni del "solito" Thomas Zeidler, il giornalista/Queen fan austriaco che è riuscito ad avere una copia "advance" di The Cosmos Rocks:
Cosmos Rockin': inizia con suoni che ricordano quelli di un film horror poi diviene un rock schietto, nel migliore stile Status Quo;
Time To Shine: Sonorità etniche per un brano che poi si evolve in un rock pomposo stile "It's Late";
Still Burnin': Brano blues in stile Rodgers, unito a chitarre hard rock ed un coro dove prevale la voce di Roger: "Rock 'n' roll will never die".
Small: Una bella ballata acustica, con un ritornello stile "inno" che ricorda un po' "All God's People". Un brano sicuramente radiofonico.
Warboys: Molte chitarre, nell'unico brano che forse si avvicina al genere hard rock;
We Believe: Un arrangiamento acustico e delicato che esplode come i tipici inni dei Queen. Il brano che maggiormente ricorda i Queen con Mercury.
Call Me: Canzonetta banale in stile rock-folk;
Voodoo: Melodica jam blues con caratteristiche da sound check. Un riempitivo.
Some Things That Glitter: Un brano dinamico ed epocale, con piano stile rock. La "Bohemian Rhapsody" dell'album.
C-lebrity: La conosciamo tutti.
Through The Night: Potente tappeto di chitarra e arrangiamenti vocali intensi
Say It's Not True: La conosciamo tutti.
Surf's Up... School's Out!: Una strana intro "radio" seguita da un inferno di arpa e parti ritmate alla Headlong.
Small reprise: Un calmo e leggero finale.
Cosmos Rockin': opening with some horror film sounds it emerges as a straigth rocker in best Status Quo sound.
Time To Shine: Spherical Ethno sounds grow to a bombastic rocker in the style of It's Late.
Still Burnin': Typical Paul-Rodgers-Blues combined with hard rock guitars and a chorus lead by roger „ Rock ‘ n roll will never die “
Small: Fine acoustic ballad with hymn-like refrain soudns a bit like All God's People. A definite radio-favorite.
Warboys: Weird guitar inferno as the only approach to the hard rock genre.
We Believe: Fragile acoustic arrangement grows to a typical queen hymn. The biggest memory to the Mercury past.
Call Me: Banal Sing-A-Long in the folk rock sound.
Voodoo: Tuneful Blues-Jam with sound check character. A filling number.
Some Things That Glitter: Epochal piano rockers in dynamic range. The Bohemian Rhapsody of this CD.
C-lebrity: we all know about this..
Through The Night: Bombastic guitar carpets hit on carried Vocal arrangements.
Say It's Not True: we all know about this..
Surf's Up... School's Out!: Weird Radio-Intro followed from harp inferno and some Headlonglike Mitstampf beat.
Small reprise: A gentle Chill out Grooves end.
